Leaders from allied trade associations will candidly offer their impressions of the dental benefits industry and NADP. Panelists will share thoughts on greater collaboration opportunities, as well as common threats.
Mike Adelberg
Executive Director
National Association of Dental Plans (NADP)
In November 2022, Michael (Mike) Adelberg joined NADP as Executive Director. Adelberg comes to NADP after leading Faegre Drinker Consulting’s healthcare provider and plans practice in Washington, DC, where his practice was largely focused on insurance benefits, including dental benefits. Before joining Faegre Drinker Consulting, Mike held several senior positions within the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Adelberg was responsible for establishing the Affordable Care Act policy for pediatric dental coverage and stand-alone dental plans. Before that, he oversaw Medicare Advantage plan contracting and market conduct, including supplemental dental benefits.
Adelberg holds a master’s degrees in Public Policy and Administration from Northern Illinois University, and History from Rutgers University. He’s authored or co-authored studies in leading journals such as Health Affairs, the American Journal of Managed Care, and Health Services Research, led or co-led four foundation projects, and has been quoted in leading media including the New York Times, Washington Post, and NPR.org.
Gregory “Greg” J. Chavez
Chief Executive Officer
Dental Trade Alliance (DTA)
Gregory “Greg” J. Chavez was named Chief Executive Officer of the Dental Trade Alliance (DTA) in April of 2020. Most recently Chavez spent 17 years with The Vision Council where he served the Executive Vice President, Operations and Membership at The Vision Council in Alexandria, VA. Prior to joining The Vision Council, Chavez was Associate Director, Member Services for the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASA), Alexandria, VA. Greg lives in Falls Church, Virginia with his wife Lisa and two daughters.
Heather Colicchio

American Association of Dental Office Management (AADOM)
Heather Colicchio is the Founder and President of the American Association of Dental Office Management (AADOM). Heather has brought her background in business management and her unique skills in professional networking to help drive the success of AADOM. AADOM largest professional association for dental business teams in the country and hosts the country’s largest dental office management conference. Heather is frequently recognized for her visionary role and has served as an inspiration to many in business and dentistry.
Julian Roberts
Executive Director
National Association of Vision Care Plans (NAVCP)
Julian Roberts is the Executive Director of the National Association of Vision Care Plans (NAVCP). NAVCP was founded in 2003 to serve the managed vision care industry and provide a forum for information exchange. NAVCP is the sole managed vision care voice advocating for policies and legislation that will increase consumer and employer access to affordable, quality eye care. NAVCP member organizations cover 220 million Americans by partnering with eye care providers in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.
NAVCP developed the first national credentialing alliance for vision care plans under Roberts leadership. The credentialing alliance reduces the unnecessary high cost to credential providers saving plans an average of 50 percent while reducing the provider friction and administrative burden. The credentialing alliance continues expansion and now includes medical and dental plans.
NAVCP is an affiliate association of American Association of Payers, Administrators and Networks (AAPAN), a national health industry association providing a unified, integrated voice for payers, TPAs, networks and care management in both commercial/government health and workers’ compensation. Roberts has served as AAPAN President and CEO since 2016. Prior to stepping into these leadership roles, Roberts served for many years as Executive Vice President for the American Association of Preferred Provider Organizations (AAPPO).
A seasoned healthcare executive, Roberts previously held Vice President, Sales and Marketing positions at ppoNext, Preferred Plan and MultiPlan.
