NADP staff and volunteers advanced the dental benefits industry in April by representing you at key industry events including the IHTSDO meeting on diagnostic codes, U.S. National Oral Health Alliance Fifth Leadership Colloquium, NDEDIC and the Connecture User Conference and Source Media broker panel . The NADP Board of Directors also met with leaders from the American Dental Association.
U.S. National Oral Health Alliance
In her role as an Executive Committee member, NADP Executive Director Evelyn F. Ireland, CAE, represented the dental benefits industry at the U.S. National Oral Health Alliance (U.S. NOHA) Fifth Leadership Colloquium April 2-3 in Atlanta. The Colloquium explored financing models for oral health and focused on policy, care and community aspects.
American Dental Association
The NADP Board of Directors and staff traveled to Chicago for a meeting with leaders from the American Dental Association. While there the two groups discussed matters of mutual interest, including health care reform and the future of diagnostic codes. Attendees included: NADP Chair Forrest Flint, HealthPartners; Secretary Theresa McConeghey, Principal Financial Group; Treasurer Kirk Andrews, UnitedHealthcare; Jeff Album, Delta Dental of CA, NY, PA & Affiliates; Charles Brody, Dominion; Mark Coyne, GEHA; plus NADP Executive Director Evelyn F. Ireland, CAE and Deputy Executive Director Timothy L. Brown.
International Health Terminology Standards Development Organisation
NADP Board Member Dr. Fred Horowitz of Nevada Dental Benefits and NADP Deputy Executive Director Timothy L. Brown participated during the first ever face-to-face Dental Special Interest (SIG) meeting of the International Health Terminology Standards Development Organisation (IHTSDO) in Copenhagen, Denmark, April 9-10. The SIG is creating international protocols for the development of dental diagnostic codes.
Connecture User Conference
NADP Executive Director Evelyn F. Ireland, CAE shared the unique views of the dental benefits industry with attendees of the Connecture User Conference April 22-23 in Milwaukee.
National Dental EDI Council
To advance the dental benefits industry and the association, NADP Deputy Executive Director Timothy L. Brown, Membership Director Rene Chapin and Dental Informatics Manager Brian Flynn are attending the National Dental EDI Council Summit April 30-May 2 in Huntington Beach, California.
