    NADP continues to serve as the voice of the dental benefits industry. In March volunteers and staff carried your message to a multitude of stakeholders and media.

    Meetings

    ADA CMC

    NADP CDT Workgroup Chair Dr. Charles Stewart (Aetna) and NADP Board member Dr. Fred Horowitz (Nevada Dental Benefits) represented the dental benefits industry at the recent American Dental Association Code Maintenance Committee (CMC) meeting March 1-2 in Chicago. They were joined by NADP staff including Deputy Executive DirectorTimothy L. Brown and Dental Informatics Manager Brian Flynn.  NADP presented the industry views on proposed revisions to the upcoming Current Dental Terminology (CDT).

    AHIP Exchange Conference

    NADP Government Relations Director Kris Hathaway traveled to Washington, D.C. for the America Health Insurance Plans' Exchange Conference March 14-15. While there, Kris also met separately with National Association of Insurance Commissioner staff and Mike Adelberg from the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight to discuss how the new Essential Health Benefit Rules addressed Equitable Treatment.

    World Congress on Ancillary Benefits

    NADP Director of Membership and Communications Rene Chapin attended the March 13-15 World Congress on Ancillary Benefits in Orlando.

    Vision Expo East

    NADP Government Relations Director Kris Hathaway also presented in New York City, March 14-15, prior to Vision Expo East, to clients of Opti-Port, a consulting firm for regional vision stores.

    Washington Post -Health policy reporter Sandhya Somashekhar interviewed NADP Executive Director Evelyn Irelandabout the recent debate on pediatric dental benefits and the health exchanges under the Affordable Care Act.

    Baltimore Sun ­- NADP Executive Director Evelyn Ireland spoke with Washington correspondent John Fritze regarding the letter from Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD) to the Obama Administration urging the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to protect affordable dental coverage for children.

    Workforce Management - Reporter Rita Pyrillis interviewed NADP Executive Director Evelyn Ireland regarding broad the status of the dental benefit industry, including trends and growth predictions and how health care reform will impact dental plans.
